Health professionals
Whether you are a psychiatrist, doctor, nutritionist, psychologist or other health professional the role of nutrition and mental health is a continuing minefield of new information and our aim is to keep you well informed.
Use THE EVIDENCE database. This allows you to search, for example, for studies on ‘omega 3 and depression’ and get an updated summary of the key studies.
Join the MENTAL HEALTH E-NEWS This will summarise any new and important news and research. Please note that each e-news starts with more public oriented material and ends with material oriented towards health professionals.
Come to our SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES to update your knowledge and meet like-minded people. These include PRIMERS if you are new to this field.
Read our SPECIAL REPORTS written by leading experts on different aspects of nutrition and mental health.
Use our FOOD FOR THE BRAIN QUESTIONNAIRE to screen your patients for nutritional imbalances that contribute to mental health.
The services we offer are funded by DONATIONS of time and money. A small donation allows you continued access to The Evidence database and all Special Reports and supports the FoodfortheBrain project. Alternatively you may wish to volunteer by being a ‘scout’ for new research in an area that interests you, or volunteering to help at events.
Are you a PSYCHIATRIST? We are looking to form a formal Special Interest Group at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. By registering for the Mental Health E-News, and ticking the ‘health professionals’ box when you do so, we’ll let you know what to do to join us when it’s time to formally apply.
