Food for the Brain

Key benefits of the Corporate Product Sponsorship Package

For £5,000 per annum, Corporate Product Sponsorship helps to support all our educational activities, including projects in schools, usage and attitude surveys and other relevant research.

1. Food  and/or Supplement Audit & Certification
How smart and consumer friendly are your foods or food supplements? Are you exploiting the benefits of your products and could your products have more benefits that would achieve Food for the Brain certification?

FFB assesses food/supplement products across a number of criteria:
• Low GL
• High in essential fats (omega 3,6 and phospholipids)
• High in vitamins and minerals
• Free from harmful or unnecessary chemical additives or colourings
• Low in sugar

The first step requires a Food/Supplement Audit, click here to view Food Audit Model. This involves completing a questionnaire about your food or supplement, providing a label and (where applicable) certificates of analysis. As a FFB Partner we carry this out for you on up to four products. Any additional products will be audited for a fee of £250 per product.

If your Food/Supplement Audit fulfils all the criteria, your food/supplement will be  ‘Certified by Food for the Brain’ and as a Corporate Product Sponsor your certified product will automatically be added to our Smart Food for Smart Kids or Smart Drinks for Smart Kids or Smart Supplements for Smart Kids leaflets, which are made available to all schools.

If your audit finds shortfalls you will be given a report detailing what those shortfalls are. If you would like help overcoming those shortfalls FFB has a team of consultants who can help you. A Food Audit helps you find out how to communicate benefits of your food more effectively.

2. Food for the Brain Friendly Foods and Supplements
On our website we will list all FFB Certified Foods and Supplements and drive web traffic to find out about these products.

3. Advertise Food for the Brain Product Certification
You can make use of your food/supplement product certification in your own promotional activities providing further reason for consumers to choose your products.

4. Attend our Food for the Brain Storms
Three times a year we run a networking seminar with like-minded companies to update you on new research. Our scientific advisors are at the cutting edge of research into nutrition and mental health and provide invaluable insight into new findings and market trends. We want you to be well informed. This is also a great opportunity to create joint marketing initiatives with like-minded associates.

5. Instant Research Update
As an FFB Partner you’ll be kept up to date on all that’s new in the field of food and the brain, with free access to Special Reports, FFB Surveys and our Research Database.

Additional Opportunities

There is a substantial FFB marketing programme planned for 2008.  Each activity can include your brand, at an additional cost to the Corporate Product Sponsorship Package.  You will automatically be invited to participate as a Corporate Product Sponsor (companies who are not involved will not be able to work with these initiatives).  Each activity will be costed separately, depending on the scale, scope and number of participants.

Activities may include:
• Year-round PR campaigns to support the FFB programme and generate coverage.  This year included a series of Trevor McDonald TV programmes as well as significant coverage in national and regional newspapers and magazines.  Click here for media coverage
• Sponsor research or survey e.g. 2007 Child Survey was co-branded with Organix and covered 10,000 individuals to generate truly compelling media news hooks.  Click here for Child Survey
• Consumer-facing exhibitions such as the  BBC Good Food Show.  Companies will be invited to share the FFB stand and be included in literature e.g. ‘Smart Food, Smart Kids Shopping Guide’.  Click here to view leaflet
• Lobbying -  FFB is a NGO and registered charity and is in a good position to help influence Government thinking on health and nutrition.  Each year we present at key conferences and build relationships with key organisations and government departments to help bring ‘Food for the Brain’ up the agenda.

Food for the Brain holds a number of relevant materials for your perusal and use as a Corporate Product Sponsor, including an Annual Report, research statistics and literature.

We would be delighted if you decide to join forces with us.  But, more importantly, you will be contributing to creating a better future for millions of people by supporting the vital work of Food for the Brain – our research, projects, media and educational activities.
