In a prospective study of 2,000 people aged 50 to 65 years old, those with the highest blood levels of omega-3 fatty acids had the least decline in verbal fluency. This was particularly true for those with high blood pressure or dislipidaemia (poor cholesterol profile and/or elevated triglycerides.
