Smart shopping top tip

To help maintain your child’s concentration and energy levels there are three shopping rules. Follow them and it will be hard to go wrong.

  • Buy food with slow releasing sugars
    Such as oats, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, vegetables excluding potatoes and parsnips, quinoa and lentils.
  • Buy essential brain-boosting fats
    Found in oily fish like salmon, sardines, and mackerel or in seeds.
  • Buy more fruits and vegetables
    Packed with IQ boosting vitamins and minerals.

It needn’t be expensive, a bag of oats is four times cheaper than the same weight of sugar-coated cornflakes, and will fill you up four times longer.
